It’s a scam I’m afraid. The UK National Lottery exists, but they don’t send out e-mail messages to people, and they don’t hand out winnings to people who never even bought a lottery ticket. Lastly – and this is always the most prominent givaway – no serious company uses free-for-all hotmail addresses for their email communication.

(We always see more of these lottery scams around christmas, since new home computers with new home users come out on the web. And new users are probably more gullable and easier to scam than the seasoned bunch who have been getting these scams for a couple of years now.)
