That might be all, but since we do get a lot of feed-back from our readers and since that feed-back most often is very interesting, I would like to add the following (inspired by Declan McCullagh’s Politech):

I treat confidential messages sent to me in confidence, protected by a reporter’s journalistic privilege and the full force of the US First Amendment. To ensure that I recognize your correspondence as confidential, make sure you put the word “CONFIDENTIAL” in the Subject: line of your email.

There are two exceptions to this guarantee of confidentiality.

1. If someone sends me a direct and credible threat to harm someone’s person or property, I reserve the right to make that email public.
2. I might publish any email address (including headers) to spammers sending me spam mail that I feel is in any way offensive.
