SWISS-LOTTO Satellite software email lottery
I almost thought I would never get another lottery notification mail, but this weekend, almost to my relief, this one slipped through my spam filters. I have never come caross the SWISS-LOTTO Satellite software email lottery before, and it differs a bit from other lottery scams since it actually parasites on a real lotto site, the quite legitimate SwissLos. However, there is no such thing as a UK subset of SwissLos, and if you know the first thing about the Swiss, you’d know that they are pretty good att taking care of money, and keeping records.
Besides. Why should a Swiss lottery send out emails using a domain such as hostle.net (the return path goes to nobody@webserver2.hostle.net)? And why on earth should they use a yahoo.co.uk email address for correspondance?

Thanx so much for this site I have just received one of these scams and apparently I won 500,000 g.b.p. and my number just happened to come out, yet I didn’t register for anything. I had not come across a scam before and sent back bogus information and yet again they have sent another email for my information. Am just going to delete it and hopefully they will go away… but I would like to know why they need this information and what they do with it….

Most of the time they will try to get you pay them an administrative fee in order to get the money they say you have won.
If you pay, they will want more, and then there’s a tax they can handle for you and probably more fees… until you give up.

It would behoove everyone to ignore these types of emails, or report it as a phishing/fraud scam. I know when receiving this type of email through hotmail, it is usually sent to the junk box, and there is an option to report these types of emails, all you have to do is click the button at the top of the email. I do not know if any of the other emails have this type of reporting system, but it is the best way to handle this type of obvious fraud. Remember, if you didn’t enter, you didn’t win.
