Google never fears changes
08/08 2003 - Last night Google made some big changes to their AdSense program. The changes included making it possible to choose a color palette for the ads, to get better statistics more detailed feedback forms... But also, to most publishers despair, the ads also included "related searches" links that lead right off to Google, thereby giving users an exit point that was very unwelcome for most publishers. Another change was to not longer include the charity links seen on pages not yet indexed by Googles mediabot. Instead, a blank space was displayed.
But Google wouldn't be Google if they wouldn't suprise anyone yet another time in 24 hours. Suddenly the related searches links disappeared. When I saw it I turned directly to Webmasterworld's Google AdSense forum to see what happened, and found that the modern legend in among SEO oriented webmasters had posted an explanation.

07/07 2003 - I've been rather lost in the world of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) during the last months. I guess it all started when i realised most of the sites I administrate are very well indexed by Google. Why all these Google searches for I hate George Bush?
06/02 2003 - Every day there are a couple of Google and Yahoo! searches for the phrase "i hate george bush" showing up in my search engine referrals pages. It's not very surprising that those who perform this search end up here, since both Google and (Google driven) Yahoo! places one of my t-shirt pages, titled "I still hate George Bush", in the first position, and the same page is listed on top when searching on Yahoo! 2008-08-07 - NÀr jag för nÄgra dagar sedan konstaterade att min kategorisida om sökmotoroptimering hade trillat ner 10 positioner i Google-sökningar pÄ frasen sökmotoroptimering sÄ uppmÀrksammades jag i en kommentar pÄ att förstasidan pÄ Lindqvist.com faktiskt just nu placerar sig som etta pÄ Google-sökningar pÄ frasen "S-À-m-s-t pÄ SEO". Ett smÄkul sammantrÀffande tyckte jag, och en festlig longtail-effekt. Det visade sig vara en felaktig slutsats. Det Àr inte ett sökresultat som jag stör mig sÄdÀr överdrivet mycket pÄ eftersom jag inte tror att det görs nÄgra som helst seriösa sökningar pÄ frasen.
