Time Travel Spammer Robert Todino wants his revenge

After getting more than 50,000 bounce mails I closed down my multi-pop account and didn’t see much more of them. Then, I went out of town, and off-line, and never realized I had been attacked by a revenging (and probably still half-witted) spammer. Today, thanks to Wired News, I have learned the term Joe-job.

But today, as I first opened up my secondary mail, unread for a couple of weeks, I grew aware of what had happened. First, there was a mail from Sean Sosik-Hamor of the inertramblings.com, who has also covered Robert Todino’s doings, in quite some detail. It was sent on October 22:

I saw your post about someone forging your domain for spam:

Just wanted to let you know that the time traveler is now forging my

domain (inertramblings.com) for his outbound spam. Check it:

*sigh*

Ohwell…

/Se an/

So that was what happened! And just think that I never even suspected that it was a revenge…

Next, sent a week later, there was a short note from Brian McWilliams, the reporter who wrote the Wired News piece on Robert Todino titled Turn Back the Spam of Time. He was writing a piece on how Todino was spamming with return addresses from lindqvist.com (my domain), davesplanet.net (Dave Hill’s domain), and internetramblings.com. We where all having a lot of fun on Todino’s time travel ambitions.

Since he was working on a new story he wanted to get in contact with me, but… i was offline.

Now, the article is up on Wired News. Quite a revelation for me… If you haven’t read it, do so. Here’s a link!.
