I mars i år tröttnade, enligt InternetWorld, anrika auktionsfirman Bukowskis på att de inte syntes i sökresultaten hos sökmotorer som Google, MSN Search och Yahoo. Man anlitade då Altus, som är ett av de svenska sökmotoroptimeringsföretag som, liksom Jajja och Webanalys har rykte om sig att kunna rätta till sökplaceringarna. Ryktet verkar vara väldigt överdrivet, och valet av sökoptmimeringsföretag sannerligen olyckligt.

Sökmotoroptimering eller sökordsoptimering?
Varje dag stöter jag på sajtägare som inte kan förstå varför deras sajt inte ligger bättre till i sökresultaten. För det finns faktiskt inget viktigare för en sajts existens idag än att placera sig högt på Google eller MSN Search. Visst. En bra position på gamla hederliga Altavista och på Yahoo kan också vara bra, och till och med en Lycos-placering kan hjälpa upp trafiken, men Google- och MSN-resultaten är ojämförligt viktigast.
Detta har lett till att det finns en uppsjö med företag som inte gör någonting annat än att hjälpa företag till bättre sökpositioner. Och så länge som svenska sajter byggs av webbyråer som först och främst styrs av grafiker och webb-ADar så kommer deras tjänster att behövas i allt högre utsträckning…
