i played the lotto for a mear $1. after weeks, i received a letter along the lines of, “you emerged as one of the winners in the third category. Participants were selected via a computer ballot draw from 1,500,000 names drawn from europe, asia, & n.america. your name, attached to coupon#: 000-00000, with serial#: 000-000drew the lucky numbers #$@%^&*%(*which subsequently won the the lotto in the third category. you have therefore been approved for the lump sum of $120,000.00 USD. this is from a total cash prize of $3,500,000.00 USD, shared among 18 international winners in different categories. this is an annual competition organized since the new millennium in our noble drive to go global.
i called the number proveded: 011-44-7847854201 to speak with the printed designated “Contact Claim Agent”, Mrs. Kathy Anderson. only to be told that instructions would follow upon my remitting a “sponsor’s check” back to her “alternate contact point,” in alberta, canada, where i could then receive the said winnings.
in speaking with my bankers, i was “Alerted” as to this ongoing “Scam!”
luckily, i did the research in finding that i was not the only person out here who has experienced this sort of ill/wrongful doings? be careful out there in your money attempt(s)?

I have read most the inserts from all of you who have been scammed. My 18 year old daughter was sent a check for $2968.00 in which she cashed. The letter attached to the check pretty much said the same thing you all are expressing. How can we shut this scam down?

I had a similar experience as Steve, I got a letter in the mail telling me that I won $130,000.00. They sent me a check in the amount of $2,840.00, which according to my agent, I should cash this check and send the cash by western union to their agent, Maxwell James in Canada, my agent, Melissa Brown, then verified that Mr. James recieved the money, she then told me that a courier would deliver my winnings to my home on Monday at 6pm, needless to say, no one showed up on monday or ever, I phoned Alpha Financial group. which is in Ontario, Canada and of course there was no answer and their voice mail was full. I called again a few days later, I got a live person and as I was talking to him about this matter, he hung up on me. Luckily, I did not give them any of my money, but I am furious that I fell for such a scam.

Today, I received this mail and immediately openened the website of Irish National Lottery and find out the guinineness of the website and it is really appreciable that many people are aware of this scam or trap which some crooks have laid on the internet.
I only wish that the concerned authorities would trace the evil people and punish them as per land of the law using Interpol or FBI which would atleast protect the innocent would be victims.
