09/04 2006 - I know that spammers use random algoritms to produce the titles of their mails. But sometimes I get the feeling that there must have been a poet involved in designing the title generating software.

2005-09-29 - Tekniskt sett så är väl det som Tilti Group ägnar sig åt inte spam. Deras erbjudanden skickas ut till info-adresser hos olika företag, kommunikation med företag är tillåten enligt rådande anti-spam-lagar.
Roligt nog kan jag i dagens mail från Tilti, konstatera att de har tagit åt sig av den kritik jag hade mot deras förra mail. De har bland annat tagit bort hälsningsfrasen (damer och herrar).

08/31 2005 - What is spam to you? Today I received a cease and decist notice from the intellectual property law firm Merchant & Gould, acting for Hormel Foods, the company that actually owns the trademark SPAM (as in pressed, canned, luncheon meat). If you haven't ever heard about this rather vicious canned product, you are probably 1) not of anglo-saxian origin, 2) not above 45 years old and 3) not a Monty Python fan.

Sober.q worm spamming from whitehouse.gov
05/19 2005 - Yesterday, when the Sober.q worm hit, I was somewhat disturbed by the fact that this domain was getting bounces where one of my addresses had been used as the from address for these political spam messages.
I don't know if I should feel better when realizing that the president@whitehouse.gov address is used for this too.

02/13 2005 - I'm mildly surprised that the nofollow link attribute doesn't keep the referral spammers from using more and more domains for their strange kind of marketing attempts. Better anti-spam filtering
11/23 2004 - After a recent change of hosting companies, the amount of spam that makes it through to my inbox is just a fraction of what it used to be.
The web hosting company currently hosting this site (*) has an optional server-side spam filter, that really does the job. Combined with the built-in junk filter in Apple's Mail.app this has resulted in an almost clean inbox!

10/21 2004 - I only see a fragment of all the thousands of spam messages I receive each day. About 99% of them are transfered directly into my Junk folder and deleted every other day. But of the maybe 50 or so junk messages that doesn't get caught by the Mail.app junk filter, there is on kind that I actually find really interesting. 2004-02-18 - Äntligen är det dags för ett svenskt förbud mot oönskad reklam via epost! Frågan är nu bara om vi får se en sista explotion innan förbudet träder i kraft? Moderaterna är det enda parti som vänder sig emot förslaget eftersom det inte kan anses vara heltäckande. Må så vara, men nu finns det åtminstone en lag att dänga i huvudet på spammarna.

Epost-reklam till barn - misstag eller slarv?
2004-02-17 - Igår var jag upprörd. Mina två äldsta barn, Alice 10 år och Love 8 år fick båda motta ett s.k. "medlemsbrev" från KF-företaget PAN Vision. Jag kunde inte förstå hur detta företag, som inget av dem kände till kunde ha fått deras adresser. Tankarna skenade iväg med mig och min mer konspiratoriskt lagda sida började ana samband som inte fanns.

2003-10-21 - Tonight my mailbox exploded. When I went over to check the morning mail I had over 30,000 unread mail admin warning messages aboutn unknown senders. Yup. 08/06 2003 - Spam has become such a big thing it is almost killing itself. Not many spam messages get past my mail.app junk filter today, and when they do, I can almost always tell that it is a spam mail and Junk stamp it (to teach my junk filter that this is something I never want to see again). The spam keeps clogging up the networks, but it isn't until something different is sent out, like Time Traveller Bob's mails where he wants a Dimensional Warp Generator, that we stop to read them, discuss them in web forums, talk about them around the coffee table and investigate what might lay behind.

Vintertid - ställ tillbaka klockan
2008-08-20 - Och så är det dags för vintertid igen då. Troget uppdaterar jag den här sidan efter säsong. I år 2008 inträder vintertid (eller normaltid som en del tidstalibaner gillar att säga) natten till söndag 2008-10-26. Då är det alltså dags att ställa tillbaka klockan en timme (till exempel från kl 03.00 till 02.00) vilket ger alla krogbesökare en timme extra att vara ute och parta på.
