A major mistake to avoid if you are a lottery scammer would be to send out the exact same mail more than once. Especially using the exact same ticket number (5647560054 188), the same serial number (5368/02) and even the same lucky numbers (50-18-22-24-32-33) more than once.

Tonight when I received two emails with these numbers, to two of my e-mail accounts, I searched my mailboxes for more instances. And sure enough: These exact numbers where mentioned in no less than five lottery scam emails. The first time I saw a lottery scam using these numbers was over a year ago.

A search for [5647560054 188] on Google actually returns 74 results. All mentioning the same lottery scam. One of them is from this site, published on January 15, 2005. [Read it here!]

How can somebody be that stupid? It’s not especially difficult to write a script that changes these numbers dynamically while sending out the scam mails. But maybe, we should be happy that lottery scammers are as dumb as they are. But since they continu to send them out, I’ll just continue to publish them.

Here is a good one. I get this scam hundreds of times and sometimes I get even.
I gave them all fake info and even a picture (fake too) and then I asked them to send a courier to pick up my check and I drew a picture of a middle finger and asked them how much it cost them for me to tell them to go fuck themselves. Pertty funny. I also did this, I told them I was a pastor in my church and I even showed a picture of myself (fake) in a white robe. I had em going for a while and then I told them they had to be a church member and I did such a good job, I got them to send me a donation to the church with them thinking I was going to give them 10 grand. Thanks for the free beer money friday night. (Losers) Another funny one. I love it !!!

I replied with the following. Yes, it’s fake but I thought they should get a taste of their own medicine.

    Dear Sir or Madam,

You have contacted, merely by chance I presume, a member of the United States Congressional Party and also an affiliate of the office for the Federal Bureau of Investigations, Office # 3324, Indianapolis IN, United States of America. Your electronic correspondences have been forwarded to this office and have been confirmed as fraudulent.
Due to an ongoing effort by our offices as well as efforts by our International partners including Scotland Yard and Interpol, the IP address from which these emails have been submitted has been traced by it’s electronic signature and identification of it’s users is underway. Participant’s in this long running scam will be charged with fraud, passing fraudulent paper, identity theft (as it applies), misrepresentation of a copyrighted system and trademark infringement of the National Lottery, as well as many other miscellaneous varying levels of misdemeanor and felony charges as allowed by the newly developed International Court of Law. Penalties may include but are not limited to incarceration and restitution in amounts yet to be determined by an ongoing civil case. Other charges will be managed in the criminal court.
Therefore it is strongly recommended that you cease and desist all current or future activity as it relates to this investigation. If you and/or any associates of this IP address would like to assist in the investigation by providing additional information which could be used to prevent future attempts of other fraudulent solicitor’s and to help in the apprehension of currently active participant’s, please contact me when possible.
