There are loads of African scammers around, many of them living in bloody UK, the rest in fucked up countries in Africa.

Hi! I received exactly the same message as you this morning!! It seems to me that they think that we are all stupid in the fact that we would not check out the web to see if it was a legitimate mail!! I received the same mail last week regarding coca cola and another one a few days ago but cannot remember what company they said they were from as i deleted it very quickly!!! Who the hell do these people think they are to play with peoples lives like this i think it is an absolute discrace and i hope they get in real trouble with the authorities if they ever get found out!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew it was a scam with a yahoo mail, but thought I call this man in UK, who was my contact. his name was Garry Jolly, and spoke a very bad english. I could hardly understand him which I kept telling him. Anyway I sent the information they wanted after having seen that there is no information about my passport or my bank. so now I am just waiting to see what happens – if they want any money from me or what. How dare they do thisto people. I wish there was a way to catch these people.

Back to the lottery email..I think if we are not easily consumed by greed, then we would not fall for that scam. I definitely believe this is the work of Nigerian scam masters. No offence but Nigerians are known all over the world for their scam works. Never believe the Nigerians, period. They go from countries to countries cheating on people. Many have been victimised by them. Here in our country, M’sia, they cheat on single women, have sex with them, took pictures and threatened to publish them in the www. The victims have to pay some amount of money to prevent their pictures going to the www. There was a case of a woman who killed herself after her picture was published in the www.

how can we report these scammers

I have rec’d the same e-mail this morning. But I also rec’d e-mails about jobs opportunities from the UK, telling me I can make over 5,000.00 weekly by cashing their check and paying their investors of course using my checking account. They are replying to me from career builders and Monster. Of course I did not reply. I also rec’d a check in the mail for 4,495.00, I called the BBB and they advised me exactly what I thought if was bogus. It was written from a Bank in Canada, so they gave me the number and I called. Again they verified that it was Bogus and now I have a case number if they can every catch the grow of people and go to trial. He ask me if I called the phone number on the letter and I told him no. I was advise that this is all organized crime and once they get your information they would share that information within the organization. Be aware and careful……

I check on the internet to see if this is a hoax or real, because I was thinking how can a company like Microsoft just give so a huge amount of money away, I was shocked to hear what I read, the people think we are stupid or what, because you must send a huge amount of money for delivery cost, how can you win something but then pay delivery fees.

Hi all. I received an e-mail today from UK NATIONAL LOTTERY/Customer Services (last time it was ‘Microsoft’, ha ha) – so am getting used to these silly jokes now. No matter the long reference and Batch numbers they apply to look serious. This so-called ‘Sweepstakes International Program’ scam has faulty language and bad layout blunders, so you’ll know the rest. Don’t get too exited or spend a minute too much wondering if this is serious.

By the way, just to educate some of you that might not already know… NEVER GIVE OUT ROUTING # if they ask u… since together with this routing # and your bank account #, they can debit your account wirely.. empty your whole account!!! so please watch out!

He also wanted a photocopy of my driver’s license and my passport. He was definitely foreign as his English was very poor and there was a bad phone connection. I believe the courier was called RScourier so be careful everyone. These people are criminals. Don’t give them any information.

We have received the same email and we were deceived by sending our information and a photo of passport and a driving license but now they require a sum of money to be sent to them as a fare for the parcel they pretend to send. I think this way is a stupid way of stealing the money of people. I would stop sending emails after sending my last email to them to ask them to send the parcel or put it in water then try to eat it.

I am AMAZED beyond belief, that after all of these posts over the past year or more, that people are STILL asking ”is it true, or just a scam?” My first thought is ”are you serious?” Then I remember though that people will believe a lie either because they wish it to be true, or because they are afraid that it is true. Use your heads people. Use reason, logic, not fancy and dreaming. Whatever situation you are in financially right now, don’t even dream that this is going to fix it for you. Just throw it away, and forget it. If you would just use your head, you would easily be able to decipher for yourself weather this was true of false. USE YOUR HEADS!!

I am one of the stupids that imagined that they could have that money…I still cannot bielieve how stupid i was but the nned makes you sometime like that…

SO, I send them some personal details such as my name, my adress and my movil number.

What problem can I have with them??
They don´t have neither my passport number nor any bank account…

Identity theft is a very real danger and emails such as the ones we have all received are a somewhat transparent attempt to commit such a crime. Yes, they will try to get money out of you but your identity is the real prize. I have been a victim of identity theft, leaving me with an empty bank account and the very real threat of debt recovery proceedings. It is an ongoing situation but I am confident that I will come out of it largely unscathed. I wish I could tell you how it happened. I certainly did not respond to emails like this one.

One thing I always consider, upon receiving these emails, is the email address. How likely is it that someone in a position to give you millions of pounds/dollars/euros will have a free yahoo, hotmail or gmail address? Is it not more likely that a large company with funds such as this would have their own dedicated email service and addresses?

On the hotly debated African question, I have to agree that Nigeria is the most common source of these emails. Having worked for Royal Mail on the Track and Trace / Fraud Hotline, I can say this with some authority. This is not an attempt to be racist, merely an observable fact. Of course, there are white people living in Nigeria too.

Oh, and I can also guarantee that there is not a single, authentic courier service that would charge $600 just for delivering a cheque. Working at Royal Mail meant that it was important to know how much the competition charged

I also got the same email as that of Ivanababy. At first, I fall for it and had sent a reply. After sending my response, providing my address, I had second thoughts about it. So I did a search on the subject where I discovered it is just a scam. How can people like these enjoy scamming innocent people, is that how they get their thrills? Why don’t they just use their five fingers, eh?

Is there some way we could fight these scammers, turn the table around and give them what they deserve? Bill Gates and Microsoft should do something about this matter as their names are being used for the scam. We should fight them back!!!!!!!!!!!
